Details on restaurant:

An up market restaurant serving North West Frontier Cuisine. A first of its kind restaurant in Bangalore, Samarkand has already become the dine-out choice of the discerning. The cuisine and the ambience are designed to transport you to the exotic lands of Mangolia, Afghanistan and Samarkand.

My opinion: Pricey in those days but food was amazing!

4. College (jnc) auntys snack joint:
Aunty had a small little place where she sold snacks (my favourite were her egg rolls/pattis) and me and my roomie would always go and have a chat with her.

A sites editors note:
New Shanthi Sagar: This popoular South Indian eatery serves amazing Dosas and Kharabhat, as well as thalis during lunch time. This is more of an eat-and-go type of restaurant and one may have to wait their turn on weekends to get a table. Do not miss the Palak Paneer and Chana Aloo topped with cream.

The 13th Floor bar and Ebony Restaurant in Bangalore last night are extremely upscale, with incredible views. Mark and I each had a drink at the bar. I believe he said the bill was the same as our restaurant bill last night, about $42. The restaurant bill, definitely a 5 star incredible restaurant with Thai, Vietnamese, European, and Indian selections, cost $42. It was a meal that normally would cost $120 in US. Looking down into the center of the building…

BONUS SECTION:

“Maldives”-Under Sea:

The first-ever undersea restaurant in the world has been introduced at the Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa in April 2007. Ithaa (which is pronounced “eet-ha” and means “pearl” in the language of the Maldives, Dhivehi) sits five meters below the waves of the Indian Ocean, surrounded by a vibrant coral reef and encased in clear acrylic, offering diners 270 degrees of panoramic underwater views. This innovative restaurant is the first of its kind in the world, and is part of a US $5 million re-build of Rangalifinolhu Island, one of the twin islands that make up Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa. This re-build includes the construction of 79 of the most luxurious beach villas in the country as well as the Spa Village, a self-contained, over-water “resort-within-a-resort” consisting of a spa, restaurant and 21 villas.
